Today is set aside as the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted. “For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones.”(Psalm 37:28) Pray that God will keep and comfort His Church in China during this difficult time. Pray for wisdom on the part of Christians as they strive to be salt and light in their communities. Pray for Chinese Christians to reach out to people of other faiths in their workplace and communities. Pray that God’s Word will continue to be available in China. Pray for wisdom on the part of foreign workers as they seek to discern the role God has for them in building His Church in China (published in a MissioNexus bulletin).
Celebrate that the LORD has progressed the project in such a way that now there are two sending bases in Laos, north and south. Four classes of national missionaries have graduated from the five-month training program, who are now serving on the field engaging 20 different Unengaged/Unreached People Groups at different levels. What a mighty God we serve! (More on The Final 58)
Pray for the Serbs in Bosnia. “…Moses relayed this message to the Israelites, but on account of their broken spirit and cruel bondage, they did not listen to him.” (Exodus 6:1-9) Lord, there are so many with broken spirits, under cruel bondage in this place. They can’t hear the Good News when it is presented to them. Instead of leaping from their stalls like young calves at this Good News, they are discouraged and oppressed. We pray against these spirits blinding the minds of unbelievers and release a spirit of anticipation so that when Good News is preached, it is received.
