Yusef is a young student who has endured tremendous persecution from his family, friends, neighbors, and classmates after choosing to accept Christ. Yet, he has remained faithful to Jesus.

In Yusef’s country, it is necessary for all students to take the Baccalaureate exam at the culmination of their schooling. Because of the poor educational system and the difficulty of the exam, only about 20% of students pass the exam and are able to apply for university opportunities.

Not only did Yusef pass the exam, but he was ranked first in his region of thousands of applicants.

Yusef is thrilled at this accomplishment, but also praises the Lord for faithfully providing for him. He stated that the same people who have relentlessly insulted him are now calling to congratulate him. He said that it is truly a miracle that he finished first in his region and that all the other students have the support of their families, homes to live in, and food to eat, and yet the Lord took this weary believer and poured this abundant blessing upon him.

  • Pray for Yusef as he transitions to the capital city to continue his studies and train as a disciple-maker.
  • Pray that the Lord would use him to encourage and challenge others as he returns to his village weekly to encourage the one other believer there and to keep sharing the Gospel with those who have persecuted him.
