This Sunday in Advent, the theme is Love.
“’For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love for you will not depart from you and the covenant of my peace shall not be removed,’ says the Lord who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10)
God loves us so much that nothing can separate us from Him. His covenant of peace and steadfast love is rooted before time and stretches into eternity. It is this love that drives the story of the world and the stories of our lives.
Let us pray that these wonderful words of life will express God’s extravagant, unshakeable, powerful, gentle love in Christ Jesus that is extended to all the world. Global church, you are His beloved. Let us pray that God empowers you to live radical lives of love for neighbor and enemy, friend and stranger.
