Sincere Seeker

When we met, Hazar showed great comprehension and a desire to follow Jesus.

When we met, Hazar showed great comprehension and a desire to follow Jesus.

Hazar is a young lady who wanted to learn about Christianity through Christians and not just from what she was reading on the internet.

My  teammate and I met with her and shared our own conversion testimonies and began to read the book of Matthew with her.

On her own, she continued reading the Bible in her home; and when we met again to continue studying, we noted that her comprehension was profound and her desire to follow Jesus was too.

We began to speak to her about the steps she should take in her journey of faith, and we explained to her about baptism. When we asked Hazar
if she wanted to be baptized, she said yes.

Adventures in Baptism

The baptism of Hazar was quite an occurrence!

We went to a beach near her house to baptize her. But when we were right at the point of immersing her in the water, a boy ran from the edge of the beach and stole my purse with all our things (our telephones, identification cards, money, and Hazar’s house keys).

Even in the midst of this situation, we decided to complete Hazar’s baptism.

We praise God and celebrate the most important thing: Hazar’s decision to follow Christ.

She felt very bad for all that we had lost, but we tried to convey peace to her and not assign importance to the robbery.

The most important thing at that moment was her step of obedience in Jesus.

God Prevails!

After the baptism, we went to the police to report the robbery. Moments later, two policemen arrived bringing my purse back and all our things with it.

Miraculously, we had recouped all that had been lost; and neither Hazar nor we could believe what had happened!

We praise God and celebrate the most important thing: Hazar’s decision to follow Christ.
