Team Expansion General Prayer Request for May 1, 2018

According to Operation World 7^th edition, geographically Asia covers 31,829,200 square kilometers or almost 24% of the world’s surface area. There are around 4900 ethno-linguistic peoples in Asia’s nations. Persecution is most intense, and lack of religious freedom most widespread in Asia. Praise God that He is on the move in lands previously cut off from Christianity, un-evangelized groups are being engaged with the Gospel and disciples are being made. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers to Asia.

Pray for the Final 58 of Laos

Did you know that there are only 58 unengaged, unreached people groups in Laos? Plans are in motion to reach these last people groups. A team is currently surveying throughout this country to confirm the name and location of each people group. When the groups are uncovered, national workers will be sent to start making disciples and planting churches.
Pray for the Aheu, 2,500 followers of ethnic religions. Ask God to reveal Himself to the Aheu as the good and loving creator and ruler of all things.

Pray for Gospel Breakthrough

Join workers serving among these specific peoples or cities in praying for spiritual advancement: the Serbs in Bosnia, the Khmer in Cambodia, the Punjabi Sikhs in India, Ancona, Italy and Rome, Italy, Tokyo Japan, the Mien of Laos, the Druze in Syria, and the people of Taiwan.

Pray for Mavuto and Joyce as they lead men and women in the study of the Bible. Pray for the leadership of the Chivirikiti church and the challenges they are currently facing.

Pray for the Unreached People of the Day

Tibetan, Shanyan in China The Tibetan name for Shanyan means “rough terrain”. The people live in a very remote district of China, requiring travel by foot or horseback. Reports indicate they defied imperial rule for over 200 years by relying on their dangerous terrain, and were finally brought under Chinese rule in 1910. They are completely unreached by the Gospel, posing one of the greatest challenges of any Buddhist group in the world. Ministry Obstacles: The Shanyan people have little basis for understanding a creator God who knows and loves them personally. Also, their remote location is an especially difficult barrier. Outreach Ideas: Sustained, focused prayer is needed for these difficult to reach people. Pray the Lord will prepare their hearts to understand and receive, and pray for dedicated Chinese believers to carry the message to them. Pray for the followers of Christ: Even though the Gospel message is completely unknown to these people, pray for the followers of Christ that will soon come out from among them. Pray the Lord will help them become devoted disciples, firmly planted on the truth of Scripture, and growing in the faith. Pray for the entire people group: Pray for the Shanyan community to be able to cope with the rapidly changing conditions of the 21st century. Pray they will make schooling a priority for the children. Scripture Focus: “That all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no one else.” 1 Kings 8:60
