By a worker in Turkey
Emre is a Kurd.
In many areas of Turkey, life is not easy for Kurds. However, in our city, they are tolerated for the most part. Emre is friends with several Turks and is becoming a good friend of mine.
I met Emre about a month ago, when I stopped at his convenience store looking for something. He didn’t have what I needed, but invited me for breakfast and we sat and talked for two hours. As I left, I prayed for him and his business.
A few weeks later, so we arranged to meet for lunch. As we were having lunch together, we talked about all kinds of things. I shared the story of Jesus and Legion with him and he shared a dream of his with me.
Blood that Cleanses
Emre said that in his dream the prophet Jesus was bleeding from the holes in his hands. Emre was then trying to stop the bleeding and while he was doing it, Jesus’ blood turned Emre’s hands white, but Jesus’ hands would not stop bleeding. Emre’s wife was there and she also tried to stop it, but couldn’t.
Emre woke up and shared this dream with his wife, but they could not figure out what it meant.
He went on to explain that it was two days after this dream that I showed up at his store for the first time. Though he didn’t know anything about me, he felt something inside him tell him that I was his friend.
He’s been overly excited and kind to me ever since.
Then he asked me what I thought the dream meant. I told him that I can’t interpret or understand dreams, but God can. I explained the significance of Jesus’ blood and why their hands became white.
I also explained that God is trying to communicate with him and that it was not by chance that Emre met me.
Taking the Next Step
I told him that it is very important that he read the Bible to have a better understanding of who Jesus is and what He has done. He agreed whole-heartedly.
Now we’re going to meet again and start reading together!
Emre asked me if I remembered praying for him, his family, and his shop. I did. He said that ever since that day, his business has been doing very well. He said that it is because I prayed.
I told him that it’s because God hears my prayers and He wanted to make Himself known to him.
Names have been changed.
