While Islam dominates Central Asia, very few follow the orthodox Islamic teachings common in other Muslim-majority areas. Nominal Islam is widespread. People cling to Islam as a core part of their cultural identity, but they seldom follow its teachings. Folk Islam is also rampant. People mingle Islamic teachings with traditional spiritual teachings and, often, occult practices. Add on layers of oppression, poverty, corruption, and stagnation, and the vast majority are lost in despair and hopelessness. But the light of Jesus has dawned on the darkness! Hope has come! Lives are being radically transformed. Former Muslims are joining in worship and prayer in many parts of the region. Lord, we are asking for more! Two female Lao National Missionary partners have engaged the Pala people in remote northern Laos. They shared the Gospel with one lame woman, whose husband had left her because of her disability. She decided to put her trust in Jesus. Pray that baptism will follow immediately and the first Pala church will be planted.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to speak clearly to the many expats and Italians who are pursuing a Disciple-Making Movement in Italy. Pray that the Spirit would fill them with greater boldness and a greater willingness to suffer for the Kingdom. Pray that the Spirit would clearly show them what needs to be done in 2020 to ignite a movement in each region of Italy in this generation

Pray for M and S who have recently returned from a six-week trip serving abroad. Pray that the seeds planted during this trip will be watered and come to fruition.
