Papua New Guinea’s motto is “Unity in Diversity,” which has a complex and ironic twist behind it. There is a history of tribal fighting and revenge killings, a sign of great division among the people. In present day, there are gangs, witch hunts, human trafficking, unemployment, and a culture of fear and violence. Pray that God would establish a true peace and a new identity that rises above tribal and ethnic ties, so that the people of PNG are brought together in a way that will only be accomplished through Jesus Christ as He provides creative solutions to meet their needs.
Praise God for His Light that can break through the spiritual darkness among these tribal groups: the Samtao, the Samtao Thai Doi, the Sapuan, the Sauk, the Sedang, and the Sila.
In many of the countries where the Mien live, the governments are not friendly towards Christ-followers. Pray that these governments will allow their people to worship freely.
Join M and L (North Africa) in praying for F’s new commitment to follow Jesus. Pray that followers of Islam would develop a distaste for that religion. Ask for consistency in language learning for M and L.
