“On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.” (Luke 2:21). In Hausa culture, people believe that if you do not cut an infant’s hair within the first week of its life, the child will be sickly and weak. To bless the child with good health, mothers will cut their child’s hair prior to their “bapteme” (baby naming ceremony where a lamb is sacrificed eight days after the child’s birth). Pray that Hausa women will not look to ancestral superstitions to save their children, but that they would trust in Jesus Christ, the Giver of Life. Pray that Hausa parents would put their faith in Christ and recognize that God alone can protect their children.

“The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” (Isaiah 60:22) Almighty God, as You kept Your promise and multiplied the nation of Israel, we pray now that You will multiply the few Golani Druze believers into a strong and healthy church that walks in obedience and continues to multiply in great numbers.
Pray for the people of Taiwan to have the veil removed that Satan uses to blind them.
Praise God with Fenton Lewis (International Services) for the opportunity to work even more deeply with a tremendous ministry partner in East Asia and the Middle East. Ask God to give wisdom and practical guidance to help them implement what God has called them to do in the Kingdom marketplace. Pray for the adoptive moms with whom Fenton’s wife has been able to share, as they face huge impacts from COVID and the uncertainties of life and ministry on top of children who are struggling due to wounds from their past.
