Istanbul is the only city in the world to bridge two continents, Istanbul is a unique and strategic place where the East meets the West. This city has a rich history of global influence, yet recently, the US, EU, Russia, Iran, and others have tried to exert their influence over what Turkey does. What if Turkey experienced transformation from within and returned to the land’s roots in early Christianity? This homeland of so much of the early Church – that is now 99% Muslim – can once again be a beacon of light and hope to the world. Should it happen, the city of Istanbul will play a critical role. Not only is this the largest city in Europe, but it is also the economic, industrial, educational, religious, and cultural center of the Turkish World. Let us pray that God will pour out His Spirit across Istanbul, transforming the entire region. Pray for a hunger for Truth to lead people to study the Injil (New Testament) as families and communities. Pray for Istanbul’s small body of believers to courageously share the love of Jesus. Ask God for an unprecedented disciple-making movement of Turks to Christ in Istanbul that spreads thru the country.
