Did you know that 108.4 million people have been forced to leave their homes worldwide? Here are the stats:

• 5 million have fled to somewhere else in their own country.
• 3 million have left their country as refugees.
• 4 million are seeking asylum and argue they can never return home.

Of the 35 million who have left their homeland, more than half come from three countries: Syria, Ukraine, and Afghanistan. The devastation caused by war and by autocratic governments is extraordinary.

Around 76% of the world’s displaced people are hosted in low- and middle-income countries. The top refugee-hosting countries are Türkiye, Iran, Colombia, Germany ( a high-income country), and Pakistan. Among Lebanon’s small population, one out of seven people is a refugee.

Father, we pray for the displaced peoples of our world, peoples You created and loved enough to send Your only Son Jesus to die for and rise again to give forgiveness, salvation, and hope.

Father, protect the lives and dignity of all those who leave their homes as migrants or refugees. The path they take is blighted by exploitation, illegal border crossings, rape, torture, imprisonment, and death.

Father, we pray for balance between many immigrants, creating tensions and strains on receiving countries, and compassionate care for both immigrants and locals.

Father, we pray for international cooperation and justice to relieve pressure and evil.

Father, we ask You to send workers to refugees and refugee camps to serve in Your Name. Jesus, build Your Church among those who have lost everything and establish deep rooted faith – turning ashes into beauty.
