Originally from Cincinnati, we were involved in local church ministry for several years before moving to Louisville in 2018 to join the home office. Peter is 9, Amos is 4, and Brandon and Maleah are…much older than that.
Things have changed quite a bit in the past year! In August 2024 we moved to Granada, Spain, along with our friends/teammates JC and Carla Williams, to be what we’re calling a “Fielded Support Team.” In addition to working some alongside the field team here in Granada, our desire is to be more strategically placed to partner better with our workers (over half of whom live within 3 time zones of Spain!), tell God’s story, and be a bridge between the Home Office in Louisville and our fellow field workers around the world. Once the dust has settled some, we’ll be able to make more frequent and more focused field visits to our teams – not just in a Communications capacity, but for our families with TCKs. We’ll be a place for people to visit that isn’t across an ocean. We’ll be able to better relate to our workers living internationally. We’re all so excited for this next step in our ministries and lives (even our children!). We’d love to answer any questions you might have about it.
Brandon
I am the Media Production Specialist on this Fielded Support Team branch of the Communications Team. I’m essentially in charge of all things audio, video, and photography. I plan, shoot, and edit videos for the organization as a whole, but also collaborate with our field workers on projects for telling stories, reporting to churches, and helping further their media ministries.
Maleah
I am the Third Culture Kid* (TCK) Care Coordinator. I work with our TCKs to ensure they are cared for, healthy, and heard. My TCK Associates Jacquie, Christy, and I work together with Member Care to make sure families are thriving (not just surviving!) in their time overseas.
*What’s a TCK? Glad you asked! It’s someone who spends part of their growing-up years in one or more cultures outside of their parents’ cultures – a blend of places, perspectives, and experiences – navigating a different concept of home. This isn’t limited to “missionary kids,” but they are definitely TCKs!
Just like “regular” field missionaries, we rely on the support of fellow believers to continue our ministries. Financial, yes, but also prayer. Without that, we wouldn’t be here! If you’d like to do anything all the cool kids do (donate, subscribe to our newsletter, etc.) check out the right-hand column for the appropriate link. If you have any questions at all, email one of us at bweiss@teamexpansion.org or mweiss@teamexpansion.org. I’ll let you figure out whose is whose.
