Safe Travel in Risky Environments Seminar (STRES)

This seminar is for anyone who is traveling or relocating to a risky location and is concerned about the safety of their mission, partners or family as well as their own safety. The seminar is hands-on and requires individuals to work both individually and in a team environment. Attendees will learn how to plan local and international travel with risk mitigation in mind and ultimately, avoid a crisis. Each attendee will be challenged to question and solidify their motivations, leadership skills, experience, and even their faith. This seminar is tailored to Faith-Based Organizations and can also be attended by families or groups traveling together.

All attendees should :

  • Bring the appropriate outerwear for the location and climate of the training location. Click here to see current weather at the location as well as notification of changes.
  • Wear appropriate footwear (sturdy hiking boots, tennis shoes).
  • You may have to physically exert yourself during this course. Please inform us as to any constraints you might have due to an injury or illness before you partake in the practical exercise portion of the seminar.
  • A water container or camelback is required to participate in the practical exercises. You must bring water with you and stay hydrated.
  • Although we would never think to infringe on your constitutional right to carry a firearm, we will not allow them at this course unless you are a seminar instructor or law enforcement professional (on-call/duty). This is not negotiable for various and obvious reasons and may not apply to the location where the training is being held.
  • It is highly recommended that everyone bring some kind of electronic device that can access the internet and note taking material. You will be required to do research during some of the practical exercises.
