A note to our workers from our Executive Vice President, JED
Last fall, our mission’s president, Doug Lucas, pulled me aside along with Jenny Smith (our Member Care Coordinator) for a quick ad-hoc meeting. He encouraged us to work together to host an event that would help to unite our Field Coordinators and Member Care Specialists in purpose. We eagerly began the process.
We arranged the date, times, sessions and sent out the invite. We were actually surprised how many signed up, showing their willingness to make this a priority. Thirty (30) of our workers participated, some in person at Emerald Hills and some via Zoom. I loved getting the opportunity to finally use Zoom’s Break Out Rooms feature. From the testimonies later, so did those who were able to pray and discuss important issues together in small groups of 3 or 4 at a time.
An Amazing Team
What a joy it was for me to participate in our FC/Member Care Retreat. To see their hearts and hear their prayers. To witness their sincere interaction and intelligent solutions and applications. I’m very thankful and praise God for those whom He has mobilized to join our mission over the years and recently. We still have lots to learn, but I’m thrilled with what HE is doing in us, to us, and hopefully through us.
God has blessed us as a mission with a growing core of 20+ Field Coordinator units (husband and wife) who serve as consistent overseers, coaches, mentors, encouragers, and prayer warriors for our teams serving directly with our Team Leaders (& spouses when applicable) serving in 82 Field Projects. These workers represent hundreds of years of ministry and life experience (combined).
Working in cooperation with them, God has also blessed all of us with a growing platoon of 10+ member care specialists (some who volunteer) who are trained, experienced, and passionately committed to providing for the needs of our workers and their children, no matter what it takes.
Committed to Your Success
Missions is hard work. Some would say that what we do is impossible (without God’s help). I wish each of you could have been present at this retreat to hear the commitments that our Field Coordinators and Member Care specialists were each making to support you. Many have already started following through with what they publicly promised to do.
They love you! They would do anything for you, humanly possible. When needed, God provided Aaron and Hur to help Moses persevere in battle. When needed, God spoke to Joshua, suffering trauma, when he had just lost his friend and leader Moses. He said “Be strong and courageous do not be afraid, the Lord God is with you each and every day!”
Be encouraged teammates, God is with us.
Please join me in thanking Him for and asking Him to bless our Member Care Specialists including our Field Coordinators with an extra measure of intimate knowledge and wisdom with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
JED, thanks for the great way you are leading! And thanks for sharing from your heart!
