From a Team Expansion worker:
We want to share a story that has filled our hearts with joy — and we invite you to join us in prayer for this new brother.
Brother Sing is 20 years old. He’s Chinese, studying at Osaka University in Japan. Earlier this year, he came to Penang for a holiday — and that’s when God began working in his heart. We met him during his trip. We shared our testimonies and the Gospel with him. At first, he didn’t accept it. But something in him stayed curious. That door stayed open. We invited him to join our Zúme Mandarin training. He said yes.
Two Months of Growing
Over the next two months, Sing joined us online. He asked question after question about Jesus. His heart was searching. He became one of the most faithful members of his group. Every day, he did his SOAPS devotional. He never missed his accountability group.
When his school break came again, Sing returned to Penang. We met once more. We had fellowship together. This time, he gave his life to Jesus!
What’s Next?
Brother Sing speaks fluent Japanese. And already, his heart is turning outward — he’s committed to share God’s story and he is keen to teaching Zúme Japanese to others when he returns to Osaka.
He started as a curious tourist, then became an eager disciple. And now he’s a future disciple-maker!
Please pray with us:
1. For Sing’s studies at Osaka University
2. For his faith to grow deep roots
3. For open doors as he shares Zúme Japanese with others in Japan
4. For protection and boldness as a young believer in a country with very few Christians
May God continue to use this young man — a faithful disciple, who will go and make disciples, who multiply others.
