Team Expansion General Request
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
In Islam, it is believed that true faith, true submission to the Almighty Creator, cannot be achieved except by showing goodness to all of humanity. Much of what is promoted agrees with what we are taught in the Scriptures: that we should treat others as we would like to be treated (Luke 6:31), and that in loving our neighbor as we love ourselves, we should not show favoritism or partiality (James 2:8-9). On a practical level, these are good things! It is true that God loves people who do good to others, and yet Scripture also teaches us that “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). Salvation from God’s wrath and eternal punishment cannot be earned. During Ramadan, as the Sylheti people pray to Allah to make them love goodness and to stand against corruption, let us pray for righteous government that punishes rather than promotes corruption in the areas where they live. Give thanks to God that many Muslims strive to do good. Pray that they find in Christ the salvation that cannot be earned.
Team Expansion Worker
The Fisherman (code name for a worker in South Asia) has been accused by local officials of instigating violence. There was recently a student protest rally that turned violent. Government buildings were burned. Some of the people arrested were related to The Fisherman. While he has not been arrested or charged, he is still being accused. He is deeply troubled by this and asks that we pray that God will give him peace in this trial.
Pray for More Workers
Ask the Lord of the Harvest to thrust out 300 new U.S-sent workers and 2200 new workers from global sending bases.
