Ayatollah Sistani is a top scholar of Shia Islam. The eyes of the world are once again fixed on Iraq, where escalating military actions between the US and Iran are playing out. Analysts debate the next moves by President Trump, Ayatollah Khomenei, and the Iraqi Parliament and Prime Minister. But very few are talking about the most influential man in all of Iraq: Grand Ayatollah Al-Sayyid Ali al-Sistani. He is the supreme religious authority in Iraq and has had tremendous moderating influence in Iraqi politics. Where Sunni-Shia sectarian division is strong, he has shown a history of easing tensions. As one of the top living scholars in Shia Islam, this simple, private, and reportedly humble and pious man has devoted his life to studying God. Yet he lacks the single most critical and transformational piece of knowledge: that Jesus Christ is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. What would happen if this man of enormous influence encountered Jesus Christ and proclaimed His love and lordship to a watching world? Pray for Ayatollah Sistani to follow Jesus. Pray for his whole family to read and study the Injil (New Testament). Pray for his influence and reputation to lead many to turn to Jesus. https://www.prayercast.com/ayatollah-sistani.html
