“Bori” is a religious practice of spirit possession, trance, and incantations among the Hausa people. The Hausa people believe that most human problems are the handiwork of evil spirits who inflict their wrath upon them to express their displeasure. Muslims and even some Christians believe it is acceptable to utilize ritual offerings or sacrifices and engage in possession performances to appease evil spirits. Pray that Hausa Christians would flee from sinful practices like “Bori” and not engage in any forms of spiritual worship or appeasement. Pray that the Hausa would be freed from the evil strongholds of their past and seek the immeasurable peace that comes only form the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of Christ.
