From the Buktas, serving in Ecuador
The Peace Treaty (also known as “It’s All About Relationship“) is one of the tools we use to evangelize. It is very effective in sharing the Gospel. We have trained several people in our church to use the Peace Treaty. We would like to share with you stories of people who have given their lives to Christ.
Meet Jordon
Jordon is 18 years old and lives with his mom, step-dad and 4 younger siblings.
Before he gave his life to Christ and was baptized, he was hooked up with the wrong crowd of people. He now is the light of Christ in his home.
I first met Jordon as I was doing Adopt a Block (knocking on doors getting to know the neighborhood) and we invited him to our young adult group we have at church.
He came and I started doing the Peace Treaty (lessons on how to have peace with God) with him. After 4 weeks he disappeared!
A Second Try
Then one day I saw him hanging out on the corner street in the barrio. I asked him how he was doing and he responded “fine,” but his face told a different story.
So I started talking to him more. He opened up and told me about all the problems he was having and all the trouble he was getting himself into with his so-called friends.
I told him that I had a friend that helped me get out of a lot of trouble in the past and I started sharing what my friend JESUS has done for me and what He still is doing in my life.
It’s Your Choice
I asked him if he wanted Jesus to save his life, or did he want to keep living how he is living now.
He made the decision to continue with the Peace treaty and became a child of God last year.
Since then he continues participating in our young adult group. He is also going to school so he can get his High School diploma.
He is changing his way of life and he thanks God for his transformation.
