Marco’s* marriage was falling apart, and he couldn’t see any way to fix it. He found himself walking down the street, desperately praying to a God he’d never cared about before.Gradually, a noise interrupted his troubled thoughts, and he realized it was music. He followed the sounds of the song, only to arrive at the doorsteps of a church.
He’d been to churches before, but had never really connected with the things of God. As he stood at the door to this one, he wondered if God could help with his broken marriage. He realized maybe God was the only one who could. He opened the door and walked in.
The worship team at Catia La Mar, Venezuela was engaged in their Saturday evening practice. They weren’t expecting an audience off the street, but they were happy to talk with Marco and connect him with a pastor, who just happened to be there.
As Marco talked about his failing marriage, his struggles and his previous doubts, the Spirit began moving in his heart. He revealed how he’d been desperate for help, and how God had led him directly to the church. They began praying for healing in his heart and family.
Soon, Marco was attending every chance he had. The church gathered around him to support his marriage and family in urgent and insistent prayer. In a short time, he surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized. He was a new man.
As Christ worked in his life, he started to experience deep healing his home, and his marriage enjoyed grace, progress, and renewal. They began to thrive.
Marco’s struggling marriage had led him to a desperate place, but he found the answers he was earnestly seeking when he followed the sound of a song into the doors of grace.
