Part 3: Reasons 8-10

  1. Workers from your very own church

Matt 9:37 “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

As Team Expansion equips your church in discipleship among your own community, this helps to identify successful workers that would be the ideal candidates for your cross-cultural field. They will be reproducing fruit from your own church body with the same DNA and leadership.

You will already have a sustainable and personal relationship with them as you support them in a cross-cultural field among an unreached people group.

  1. More focused approach to Mission

Matt 25:20-21 ” And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Luke 10:40-42 “But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

So many options actually paralyze people from wanting to get involved and prevent them from the seeing the value in any of them.

So many options actually paralyze people from wanting to get involved and prevent them from the seeing the value in any of them.

With good intention, many churches try to have as many activities and groups as possible for people to get involved in. Churches can also have a tendency to do the same with mission and have a mindset that the more missions they support, the better.

These approaches are very often not the best stewardship of finances for the church or the worker. They can be so unfocused that they become distractions and choke out the one thing that is necessary.

In a lot of cases, so many options actually paralyze people from wanting to get involved and prevent them from the seeing the value in any of them.

In our efforts to be relevant in this world, we become irrelevant to His Kingdom. Typically, a church will notice a change needs to be made for a more targeted approach but do not know how to do so.

“When you have a simple strategy that supports your mission and vision, people get passionate about your mission and vision. They have no choice but to be, because it’s all you do. When they get involved, they become engaged. People are most engaged with what they’re involved in. What people become involved in becomes their mission.” – Carey

Team Expansion can help you re-evaluate your approach to mission and help you prayerfully discover a strategy that supports your mission and becomes the reason you exist so that others can get passionate about it.

  1. Growth in your Church

2 Corinthians 9:10 “Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.”

Matt. 13:4-8 ” As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.  Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.  But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.  Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Team Expansion can help you give deep roots to your church and your mission so that it is healthy, sustainable and fruit bearing.

Team Expansion can help you give deep roots to your church and your mission so that it is healthy, sustainable and fruit bearing.

By having your own hands-on mission field, you will be able to see the growth and fruit on your cross-cultural mission field and that is definitely so exciting!

What we don’t realize is that by enhancing prayer, discipleship, focus and stewardship among your church, the individual people are growing spiritually. The church is growing spiritually. And it often leads to physical growth in the church as well because your people are discipling new believers in the community.

We want to be in a place they can grow and be passionate for the purpose we exist for.

Like the parable of the sower, Team Expansion can help you give deep roots to your church and your mission so that it is healthy, sustainable and fruit bearing.

Now you get to witness multi-dimensional growth in two places at once.
