At a summit in Tampa, FL we heard a first-hand testimony from a former Hindu lady who suffered from depression and addictions to alcohol and smoking. After going through a divorce she was miserable, considering suicide and constantly going to the wrong places and hanging around the wrong people. Then, she confessed, the demons started showing up and their voices in her head were more than she could bear.
In attempt to get rid of them, she visited a psychic and paid $300 to be told to burn some cinnamon sticks and chant. She did all this but the demons laughed and would not leave. She said there were over 200 of them. She went back to the psychic and reported that that method was not working. The psychic told her to go to a church.
This Hindu lady drove around looking for a building that had the word “church” on it. She found one downtown. She sat down beside one of the windows, but she said the demons didn’t seem to mind – they went in and out of the church building at will. Eventually she met a believer who introduced her to a disciple maker and to his team of disciple makers. Together, they talked to her and prayed for her and accompanied her as she cleansed her house of anything tied to idols and demonic activity. They led her to faith in Jesus Christ. Her daughter who had recently become a Christian baptized her.
One by one the demons left, but they all didn’t leave until the day that this former Hindu lady understood and believed the truth that Jesus Christ was God’s Son and He shed His blood to pay for all her sins. As she finally embraced this truth, that God the Father sacrificed His Son for her, she then spoke directly to those demons, and one by one, they sadly hung their heads and left, and she was free, free indeed. Also gone were her addictions to nicotine and alcohol.
This former Hindu lady then led her mom to the Lord and baptized her in the bathtub. She has led person after person to the Lord. She now trains others how to pray and overcome the things of this world through the Word and the blood of the Lamb. In Christ all things are new. She is an ambassador of Christ with about 3,000 others who have been influenced by the growing disciple making movement that started in March of 2013 in Tampa, FL.
