From despair to glory, this is a story of redemption, from a Team Expansion Worker in Southeast Asia:
Sometimes, God uses hopeless situations for his glory. This was one of those times.
There was a man in our country who lived in a small village with his wife. He worked as a tourist truck driver, which took him to many places around the country.
His job would often take him to another town, about 3 hours from his village. It was there he met a young girl he liked and started dating, telling her he was single. After a year of dating he decided to take her on one of his road trips.
At one point during this trip a lady walked up to the girl and asked her, “Did you come with this man?” When she answered yes, the lady said, “Well, I am his wife! I don’t care where you go but you better hurry up and get out of here!”
This poor girl had no idea she was dating a married man.
Distraught, and with no money and no choice, the girl started walking along the road toward town. She was about 100 miles from home.
She walked for more than 8 miles before she came to a village and decided to stop at a little roadside shop to rest. This shop happened to belong to the wife of Mr. L, Head CMM (Church Multiplication Movement) Trainer who partners with us.
Mr. L came home and found this young woman talking with his wife. He listened to her story and realized the opportunity to share Christ, so he used the 24-picture gospel tool we created and shared the message of hope in Christ with this young girl.
That evening he and another trainer came back to share with her more and explain the way of Jesus to her. She was ready to believe so they prayed with her to accept Christ and baptized her in their big bathroom water tank bucket.
God used her greatest despair for his greatest good.
Afterwards, they all spent time in worship and Bible study together. When they were finished, they put some of their money together to help her get home.
They praised God, recognizing that what man had done to her for evil, God used to bring her goodness and salvation! Praise the Lord!
